Welcome!
I’m Annalise.

By day, I work in corporate, the kind of job that runs on never-ending Zoom meetings and constant Teams notifications. By night (and any stolen pocket of time I can find), I'm working on a novel and using my Substack space to practice my writing.

I'm the kind of person who has a book in every room of the house (I literally carry one with me, either in my hands, on my phone, or playing in my earbuds), who cooks her way through a cuisine just to understand it better, and who finds most things funnier when they're a little bit dark. This site, and everything attached to it (ah hem, all those buttons that take you to my Substack!), is where I get to be all of that at once: writer, reader, cook, and person still figuring out how the pieces fit together. If any of that sounds like you, I'm glad you're here.

Head on over to my Substack if you like reading memoir-style stories full of humor (both haha-funny and sad-but-comically-funny), authenticity, and hope. You can also peek in from time to time to see if I’m still flailing around as a wannabe writer, or if I’m actually achieving this grand dream of mine. I’m an elder millennial (also known as a geriatric millennial - seriously??) attempting to do the impossible. Wish me luck!
